Remote Access to the C-Mod Ideas Forum

The Alcator C-Mod Ideas Forum is broadcast for remote participation.  Offsite collaborators and other interested parties can receive the slides presented via meetingplace® or VNC, and can receive an MP3 audio stream or RealVideo® video stream of the Forum.  Offsite presenters will be heard via the audio steam or telephone whle their slides are served from the PSFC in the same way that the on-site presentations are served. Two way channels are available over ISDN video conference, and audio only over telephone.

Connecting to the meeting.

 
Slides The slides for the meeting are presented using meetingplace® and VNC. The mettingplace software is Java based. Browse to: http://audiobridge.es.net/  and click on the 'Attend a meeting' button at the top of the page.  Login as 'Guest' and provide your name in the box provided.  Enter the meeting ID number which can be found below, and click on 'join web conference'.

For those wishing to see the presentations slides via VNC, the VNC server will be 'video3.psfc.mit.edu'. A password is required. Contact Josh Stillerman (jas@psfc.mit.edu) or Jim Terry (terry@psfc.mit.edu) for the password.  
RealPlayer® Video of the meeting RealPlayer video of the meeting.  The link at the left will bring up the live streaming video from the meeting.  A complete description of how to use this service can be found at:

This video stream is delayed by 20-30 seconds to allow for network buffering.

MP3 Streaming Audio The audio from the meeting is broadcast using streaming MP3.  Use WinAMP (WIN32) or MACAMP (Macintosh) or the equivalent to connect to:

Telephone Audio Telephone connections to the meeting are provided using the ESnet audio bridge at LBNL in  Berkeley CA.

This communication is two way!  Be sure to mute your telephone when you are not actually speaking.

ISDN Video ISDN based video connections to the Forum are provided using the ESnet video bridge.  The facilities to do this have been reserved in advance for MIT-PSFC, PPPL-B205, GA-FUS, and U-TEXAS-FRC.  See phone #s below.
