Student Alumni Club

Mission

The goal of the PSFC Student Alumni Club is to build a bridge between current students and people who have already graduated from the Plasma Science and Fusion Center. We believe that by building this network we can make our community grow stronger.

The Club organizes regular seminars, inviting former PSFC graduate students to give talks about topics ranging from the general directions of scientific development to the details of their current research. These seminars provide a good chance to discuss career opportunities at an alum's lab, and his/her personal experience there. The primary goal of these seminars is to give students a better understanding about what is going on in other laboratories and different areas of science, allowing them to keep pace with the cutting edge of science and technology.

The Club issues monthly PSFC Newsletters, primarily intended to keep PSFC alumni updated on the latest news and research at their alma-mater. Through our alumni database you can always find your old friends.

One of our goals is to connect students seeking a job with a potential employer looking for a perfect candidate. Please take advantage of our Job Postings forum. To further facilitate connections between candidates and employers, the Club plans to organize a Career Fair in January 2008, during the MIT IAP (Independent Activities Period).
