Alcator C-MOD Weekly Highlights July 31, 1995 Scheduled maintenance and upgrade activities continued on Alcator C-MOD last week. The second and third tier of igloo blocks have now been replaced, with the exception of blocks at ports B, C, and D, where diagnostic re-installation is still in progress. Nine out of ten of the new halo Rogowski coils have now been installed. Work on the ICRF antennas is going well. The D-port antenna inspection has been completed. The coax bellows and current probe are fine and do not need replacement. The E-port Faraday screen is being cleaned and is nearly ready for installation. Clean-up of previously removed divertor and wall tiles prior to re-installation has begun. The optics have been installed in the edge Thomson Scattering in-vessel pot and the unit is at the laser welder for final welding operations. The pot should be back at M.I.T. for final leak check this week. Installation of the A-port diagnostic stand extension to accommodate the divertor Thomson scattering diagnostic has been completed. The order for the Boronization gas system has been placed. The decision has been made to locate the gas-feed for this system at B-port horizontal flange. The EF4 supplies (old Alcator C supplies) from Livermore have arrived at the local rigger and are expected on-site this week. Dr. Cliff Singer from U. of Illinois is visiting M.I.T. this week to work on transport analysis of C-MOD shot data.
