Alcator C-MOD Weekly Highlights
			November 19, 1996



	The C-Mod lower PF coil package has been inspected, cleaned
up, and is ready to be reinstalled.  Work on the lower EF1 pocket
heaters is nearly done.  The lower coil package will be installed
as soon as the heater work is complete.  The TF arm inspection continues.
Work has focused on the lower arms so that the inspection
will not impact the machine reassembly schedule.  All tooling required
for making the modification to the OH coaxes is in house.  This work
will begin as soon as the procedures have been reviewed.
	Work continued on several other engineering systems during
the last week.  The replacement interphase transformer for our PEI power
supply has been installed.  This supply is used to produce the toroidal
magnetic field needed for electron cyclotron discharge cleaning.  The
high voltage transformer for the new ECDC magnetron has also been installed
and is undergoing tests.  The new ECDC unit will provide a backup system
for the present magnetron, and will also allow up to 6 kW of RF power to
be used during ECDC.  Power and water installation continues on the 
DNB.  The dummy load for the #1 and #2 transmitter has been reassembled and
is being prepared for testing.  The control wiring for the #3 and
#4 dummy load is complete as are all plumbing and pump controls. The IPA and
driver tubes for transmitter #3 have been installed.  Mechanical
modifications to the diver cabinets are nearly complete.
	A large fraction of our scientific staff attended the APS meeting
