Alcator C-Mod Weekly Highlights Jan 3, 2012 FY2011 weeks of research operations Target: 17 weeks Completed: 1.1 weeks Plasma Shots: 209 Operations ----------- Last week was a scheduled maintenance interval at Alcator C-Mod. No plasma operations were planned. Plasma operations are planned to resume this week. Lower Hybrid System ------------------- Testing and debugging of the transmitter protection system (TPS) upgrade continues. Modifications were made to the PLC programming. Scaling of collector coolant temperature, pressure, and flow rate was adjusted. Proper function of circuit breaker interlocks was confirmed. Diagnostic Neutral Beam Systems ------------------------------- The DNB system was in standby mode last week. During the previous week, we successfully tested a new improved cathode heater assembly on the test stand. Travel and Visitors -------------------- David Pace (GA) visited MIT last week to work on the new fast ion loss detector (FILD). Fibreoptic cables were run from the port feedthroughs at C-bottom to the rack containing the digitizers and electronics box.
