LN2 VALVE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
1/1/04 GD

1. Locate and disconnect 120 VAC input for valve in LN2 Valve Cross Connect Box located on the side of the bus tunnel.

2. With a voltage meter, verify 120 VAC has been remove by measuring the voltage at terminals 1 & 2 located inside the valve body.

3. Remove red and black leads coming from the circuit boards at terminals 3 & 4. Tape stripped ends of these wires.

4. Connect wires from cable of adjustment switch as follows: white wire to terminal 1, red wire to terminal 3 & black wire to terminal 4.

5. Plug adjustment switch plug into 120 VAC.

6. With adjustment switch drive actuator in direction (CW) to close valve.
NOTE: When flats of stem are perpendicular to line of flow, valve is closed. Valve is closed when 0 PSI is displayed on the Cryo Console.

7. If necessary, adjust cam #1 to make close limit switch slightly less than closed position (0 degrees). Cam #1 should make switch at -1 to -3 degrees.

8. With adjustment switch drive actuator further CW so that cam #1 makes close limit switch (~-1 to -3 degrees).

9. Set potentiometer so that the resistance on white/black to purple is 110 ohms.

10. With adjustment switch drive actuator in direction (CCW) to open valve while reading the resistance on lead white/black and green from the potentiometer and stop when the resistance is ~110 ohms.

11. Set cam #2 so that it makes open limit switch. When switch is made, there will be continuity between terminal 3 & 6.

12. With adjustment switch, drive actuator to close the valve and stop at approximately one-half closed.

13. Rotate "range" and "zero" pots on board fully clockwise. Rotate "AH" pot fully clockwise and then 1/4 turn counter-clockwise.

14. Unplug adjustment switch from 120 VAC and disconnect from terminal strip of valve.

15. On Cryo console, set valve on manual and 50%.

16. Reconnect red and black leads coming from the circuit boards to terminals 3 & 4, respectively.

17. Reconnect 120 VAC to valve.

18. On Cryo console, change set point of valve to 0%.

19. After actuator has stopped, adjust zero and/or range pots so that valve is closed.
NOTE 1: Rotating zero pot CCW cause actuator to further close valve and rotating range CCW cause actuator to open valve.
Note 2: 1st LED on indicates valve is rotating CCW or in direction to open before over travel & 2nd LED on indicates valve is rotating CW or in direction to close before over travel.

20. On Cryo console, change set point of valve to 100% and verify valve opens.
