ENGINEERING STARTUP PROCEDURE

STEP1: Retrieve and print 3 copies of the ops message located in the Bulletin Utility that is posted for the run day. The message should be titled Engineering setup and run plan. A copy is provide to the cryo operater for gas setup and a second copy is pasted in the engineering logbook. The third copy is given to the physic's operator.

STEP2: On DAIGLE start CMod Cycle , Action Monitor and LOGBOOK. Answer yes to the server question. Enter a brief run description; ex. mp#, operator's names including engineers.

STEP3: On DAIGLE open a DECTERM window and start IDL. At the prompt, type .run cmod$models:[engineering.idl]oh_resist. After the routine compiles, type Watch_oh.

STEP4: On PHYSOP start Power Supply Control Panel and CMod Announce. In the CMOD Annouce panel: set audio volume 60%; toggle Cell, Power Room and Diagnostic Lab; and toggle 30 minutes approximately one hour prior to run.

STEP5: On PHYSOP toggle the load button on the Engineering Power Supply setup window. Clear the shot number by using the backspace key and then enter the shot number requested in the Engineering setup and run plan. After the shot loads, toggle write then reset. Verify that the all supplies are enabled.

STEP6: On PHYSOP open the scope tf_tap_after.dat .

STEP7: Start the paragon programs for all supplies by typing PARN at prompt and then enter setup values listed on setup plan.
NOTE: On TMX screen, leave EFC in PLC mode and toggle dump in to dump out.

STEP7: Sync up PLCs by moving state to standby

STEP8: Wait for ALTERNATOR to provide control to control room.

Other Important Notes:

To limit the diagnostic data stored, open a DECTERM and start IDL. At IDL prompt, type cmod_manage to obtain a window for toggling on/off camac systems.

To run a test shot: log in on Daigle, run cmod_cycle and toggle off unnecessary Camac systems and record changes, Bypass all necessary systems in Sateset, move STATE system into RECOOL.

To run scanner: Open Ross Relay, wait for 60 minute timer, Reset, Close Bus Switch, Set voltage to 15 V, toggle DC on, start Auto Pei Tf/Scanner
