Check above, around, and below machine for following: . any tools left near machine . any large unsecured magnetic objects within a couple of feet of the igloo . objects such a ladders unsecured around machine or leaning on the igloo . cabling that is not properly secured . nitrogen leaks from boots . any large buildups of ice around the machine . heaters are all running and delivering heat to intended areas . heater hoses that have been removed from around ports . verify that cell exhaust fan is operational . open ZBolo shutter . enter vacuum and ECDC info in the computer logbook -- RF Checks Performed by RF group (steps below) --- . check SF6 and GN2 purge to RF components SF6: D, E, and J 6" coax should be 17-20 psi J 9" coax should be 10-12 psi Record bottle pressure in OPS logbook N2: D and E 9" coax (from stub tuner to 6" coax) should be 20 psi D and E 9" coax (from switch to stub tuner) should be 2 psi -- End of RF Checks Performed by RF group --- ****************************************************** MAGNET COOLDOWN PROCEDURE: Revised 7/6/10 GLD Revised 5/21/12 GLD . stamp log book & fill in all info . Heat temps should be set to 35/35/35 . take RGA data . If ECDC is not running and has been requested before the run, begin plenum purging steps now (page 1 and 2 of ECDC procedure) while working through the steps below . check that upper cover cooling is set to 75% . check that lower cover cooling is set to 0% . toggle offset update on voltage/current screen of Cryo. If offsets dont reset correctly, reset Ross relays and 5V/5A supply (note: If ECDC is running, leave tf ross relay disabled) . check IGT and Mass 40 readings . set EF magnet cooling setpoints as follows EF1u,l to -175C EF2u,l to -167C EF3u,l to -169C EF4U manual to 25% EF4L manual to 20% EFCU&L to -180C . set the OH cooling setpoint to -167C . set LN2 pump to 5.0 psi . verify that the valves you expect to open do so . If ECDC is not running and has been requested before the run, continue ECDC procedure now (page 3 through page 8) but skip RGA setup on page 3. . except for EFCs and EF2s wait until the EF coils are within 10C of their setpoints . check IGT and Mass 40 readings . set TFU, TFV, TFL cooling setpoints to -140C . wait until the TF regulates at -140C and verify that there are no increases in the machine base pressure or mass 40 on the RGA . set TFU, TFV, TFL cooling setpoints to -165C . after regulation verify that there are no increases in the machine base pressure or mass 40 on the RGA . set TFU cooling setpoint to -178C . set TFV cooling setpoint to -180C . set TFL cooling setpoints to -180C . reset i2t system . at time of lockup set CC_OUT cooling setpoint to -178C . at time of lockup set CC_INS cooling to manual at 40% . wait about 1 minute and verify CC_INS pressure is within 0.2 psi of 1.2 psi . after first shot set LN2 pump pressure to 8 psi . OPTIONAL DEPENDING ON COOLING ISSUES DURING RUN --> increase pump speed to 10 psi --> enable "Enable Quad -162" with time on set to 480 seconds (On cryo_setpoint screen) .
