SHOT PROCEDURE

Steps to Follow Before Proceeding to INIT
1) 10 minutes has past from previous shot
2) Check Alternator speed is 1695 RPM
3) Review systems that are bypassed on STATESET (Normally TMX only)
4) Verify TF, PF and EF3 breakers are closed
5) Verify TMX contactors are all closed
6) Verify all supplies are ready
    .OH2U&L, OH1, TF, EF1, EF3 and EF4 will all indicate a TYPE 3 FAULT
        due to the Ross relays.
    . TMX will indicate a MAGNET RESISTANCE fault due to the Ross relays
    . all other faults should be cleared or show green.
7) Ask Cryo operator if cryo system is ready
8) Receive permission to proceed to INIT from operations engineer in charge

Steps to Follow During INIT
1) Verify big board display clears (Usually occurs between 1 and 2:30 minutes into INIT Phase)
        If this takes longer than 2:30 minutes ask operations engineer to check ACTION MONITOR.
2) Verify REAL TIME CURENT DISPLAY clears
3) Check Alternator speed is 1695 RPM
4) Verify TF, PF and EF3 breakers are closed
5) Verify TMX contactors are all closed
6) Verify all supplies are ready
7) Proceed to CHECK when permissive is obtained.

Steps to Follow During CHECK
1) Turn on EXCITATION located on ALTERNATOR console
2) Verify excitation voltage increases to >12.5 but no more than 12.8
3) During audio countdown, verify that the alternator permissive light turns on.
4) Proceed to PULSE when countdown reaches 1.
5) Prepare to push emergency button if one of the supplies does not run properly

Steps to Follow During Pulse
1) Watch REAL-TIME CURENT DISPLAY to verify that supplies are running properly

Steps to Follow After Pulse
1) Verify excitation voltage ramps down to zero
2) Check to see if any breakers opened during shot and, if so, note the faults on power supply screens.
3) Check machine pressure and verify no faults were generated on TORVAC
 
 
 
 



 
 
 

ACCESS PROCEDURES:

STEPS TO CHANGE FROM SECURED ACCESS TO CONTROLLED ACCESS
1) Verify excitation voltage is zero and excitation is off
2) Open TF, PF and EF3 breakers.
3) Open Air Switch on ALTERNATOR screen
4) Enter 4 in area locations on ACCESS CONTROL Screen.
5) Page up, Page down to reset colors and verify areas are in controlled access.
    (Contolled access areas should be pink.)
6) Unlock kirklock to door between Control Room to Power Room.
7) If cell entrance is required, verify O2 levels are acceptable.
8) If cell entrance is required, take Key and Open Concrete door to cell.

STEPS TO CHANGE FROM CONTROLLED ACCESS TO SECURED ACCESS
1) Verify all personnel have exited the cell and power room.
2) Kirklock Control Room to Power Room door
3) Enter 3 in area locations on ACCESS CONTROL Console.
4) Toggle DOOR RESET on ACESS CONTROL Console
5) Page up, Page down to reset colors and verify areas are in secured access.
     (Secure access areas should be blue.)
6) Toggle MASTER RESET on STATE Console
7) Close Air Switch on ALTERNATOR screen
8) Toggle MASTER RESET on STATE Console
9) Close TF and PF breakers.
10) Close TMX contactors
11) Close EF3 breaker on EF3 Console
