Restart Plasma operations. Establish Robust Startup with Abnormal Bt.


Summary
_______

Good progress.

We seem to have a reasonably robust startup. Shot 22 onward. But the
plasma is very dirty and radiative, so it is hard to be certain. We
are using quite a slow Bz ramp in the first 20ms, probably if we clean
the machine up this will have to be increased.

Systems ran much more reliably today that the last couple of days.


Things learned today.
____________________

It is feasible to run the Br on line 4 which has an integrator. Applying an
integral gain of 4 does not break anything. Wolfe points out that this
line is referenced to Ip. However since Br demand is always zero this makes
no difference (at all since even the Ip drift is multiplied by zero). An
offset difference of about 2.5mT exists between this line and line 7.

A new scope user10:[hutch.mds.scopes]init_current.dat now calculates the
ratio of Ip to Bz. For good initiation, a value of about (3. to 4.)e6 (A/T)
is required for equilibrium.

Good prompt breakdown is obtained with a fill of .05mtorr at present. This
low value is useful for keeping down the CII in a dirty machine.

Feedback control on Zcur is now starting earlier without a problem.

Only one plasma over 1.s duration (7) was obtained. Many plasmas
terminated because of radiation at about .4s. Raising nl04 did not help.
H/D ratio was very (ridiculously?) high.
