Session Leader Run Summary for 1010705 MP291A LFS ITB

Return of Son of 049A. Shot 3 had a brief ITB just prior to the
disruption, at 4.5 T, to confirm the earlier results. The rest
of the run was plagued by disruptions, presumably due to a
loose RF probe coaxial cable, and no useful data relating to
low field side ICRF ITB formation were obtained.

Jul 5 2001 10:26:26:930AM1010705004Ian HutchinsonPlasma. Disrupts soon after E-port comes on. Big injection.

IEF4 to -1280A
Jul 5 2001 10:59:37:977AM1010705005Ian HutchinsonPlasma. Disrupts at .7 s again.

nlzmeter to .5 from .6
Jul 5 2001 11:23:14:040AM1010705006Ian HutchinsonPlasma. Disrupts at .65s. Looks as if D-port must be the problem. No E.
and J does not try till after the injection.

Delay D-port. Remove TF wiggle.
Jul 5 2001 11:38:03:910AM1010705007Ian HutchinsonDud. Fields don't look too bad, although the sequence had some funny problem.
Jul 5 2001 11:54:40:457AM1010705008Ian HutchinsonDud

Raise fill puff from 19ms to 24ms.
IEF4 to -1285 from -1280.
Jul 5 2001 12:25:05:877PM1010705009Ian HutchinsonPlasma. Disrupts at .83s, shortly after the delayed D-antenna turns on.

Turn off D-port.
Jul 5 2001 12:36:39:117PM1010705010Ian HutchinsonNo power shot. Network hang.

Load
Jul 5 2001 01:13:27:190PM1010705012Ian HutchinsonFizzle. F-side pressure is .09. Probably because the ECDC had been run.
Enegineering reports that init was entered at 5e-4, and an extra 30s was
added to the wait to enter check to compensate. However, the network
was much speeded up. So that might not be enough.

IEF4 to -1290 from -1285
Jul 5 2001 01:33:23:600PM1010705013Ian HutchinsonPlasma. Disrupts at 1.3s as the late D-port power ramps up.

ITF to 130kA. Try to get a decent shot with not such a low field.
Entered check at pressure: 2.5e6
Jul 5 2001 01:45:45:890PM1010705014Ian HutchinsonFizzle. Fill is .084

Seems as if the clearin is messed up for this shot. Has zero offset.
Incorrect. So load from 1010703001 (again).
Change ITF V. Load nlzmeter from previous shot.
Jul 5 2001 02:23:14:383PM1010705016Ian HutchinsonPlasma. Disrupts at 0.8s. No J-port. power.
Jul 5 2001 02:39:58:883PM1010705017Ian HutchinsonPlasma disrupts at .72s.

ITF to 160kA.
Jul 5 2001 03:03:17:163PM1010705018Ian HutchinsonDisrupts at 0.5s.

Found the problem on the wide angle. A wire or other object is poking up at K
port and glowing and blowing off junk. It first became unmistakably visible
on shot 9. There was some sort of activity in the same general area on shot
1 but not what we have now.

Shut down the run to figure out what to do.
