Session Leader Run Summary for 1010727 MP289A Double Barrier Studies

All plasmas had double barriers from D and E antennas, with J antenna
available with a variety of delay times and power levels. Several
discharges demonstrated barrier arrest: 13, 17, 23, 24 and 25.
Confirming earlier results, it appears that J port power in excess of
600 kW tends to destroy the barrier. Several shots had pellet injection
so q profiles may be available.

fill B-side lower with 1 psi of Ar Hybrid enabled (PG1)
fill B-side upper with 30 psi of D2 Hybrid DISABLED (PG2)
fill C-side with 30 psi of D2 Hybrid enabled (PG3)
fill J-bottom with 30 psi of He Hybrid DISABLED (PG5)

Enable the following gate valves: ECE, DNB, VUV

RF: XMTR 1 thru 4 in run-on by 8:00 AM

Run starts at 09:00 and ends at 19:00

Summary:

We started off by re-running shot 22 from yesterday by mistake.
However, it was a very nice shot with 2 MW of rf and a long
EDA with 100 kJ of stored energy. We lost several shots early
because of injections from some undetermined source. We had
several fizzles, about half of which were explainable. The
rf group was able to couple in 5.1 MW of power today. H/D
remained low all day, starting out as low as 3% and rising to
5 or 6% with rf. The AUG similarity run yesterday may have helped
clean things up a bit. We also ran ECDC between shots.


Problems:

Start of day problems with CAMAC caused by a bad power supply
in the edge TS rack. OH2U and OH2L coax resistances were both
high (> 1.5 uOhms) on a couple of shots today. A disk quota
problem kept of from getting TV data for a while.
