Plan:

Given machine constraints, Emphasis will be on the EDA/ELMfree
boundary as a function of delta. The hope is that the loose tile
will not cause too much trouble.

The overall strategy is to pick a triangularity, get an H-mode. If
it is EDA, we scan up in current (down in q) till the discharge goes
ELMfree. If it is ELMfree, we scan down in current till it goes
EDA. Then go to next value of triangularity.

- Bt = 5.3 or whatever value it is these days that puts the D&E
antennas squarely on the magnetic axis

- no power scans - steady power at about 2 MW

- start at 1 MA for the high triangularity. we can probably drop
the base current as the triangularity is lowered.

Results:

pretty good - Most of the run had high radiated power - moly apparently
some of the results may be colored by the presence of type III elms

we never saw a really good eda - that is with low radiated power
but the fluctuation diagnostics saw the qc mode appear and disappear
as the parameters were varied.

We ran delta_av from .3 to .75

At the lower delta, the EDA/ELMfree boundary was 4.5 ~ 5.5. We
tended to see coherent bursts - perhaps some type of ELM when
q95 was below 6. These were particularly clear on the magnetics.

At the higher triangularities, the qc mode didn't disappear until q
was dropped below 4-3.5. This is about the same as the q threshold
for our standard delta~0.4.

fill C-side with 30 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG3)

Enable the following gate valve, assuming no vacuum problems: DNB,ECE, VUV

RF setup - 3 MW from D,E,J

Plan:

We will study effect of plasma shape on EDA/ELM-free boundary.
We'll start with 1021009015 - high triangularity discharge, Ip=0.8, nl=0.8e20 and max reliably
available obtain good EDA.
Then scan Ip to get q95 scan in H-mode. Scan Ip from 0.8 to 1.5 MA to get to q95 below 3.5.
Do current scan at different triangularities. Time permitting, perform current scan in double null
configuration.

Summary:

Startup was very good throughout the run. Several high current disruptions did not cause
the following fizzle, and small prepuff tweaks were enough to keep plasma running. We had only two fizzles.
We started by loading segment 2 from 1021009015 - high triangularity (delta_ave=.7) and did several
current scans up to 1.4 MA. It disrupted every time, forcingus to move to lower triangularity. The disruption was caused by sweeping outer strike point hitting the tile in the divertor during current scan.
We tried higher delta_lower on the last two shots to keep outer strike point on the inner divertor shelf. It worked on shot 30 but on shot 32 the 1.4 MA plasma touched the inner divertor and disrupted.
