Engineering setup and Run Plan for Wednesday, May 21

NO Overnight ECDC.

Engineering systems as on 1021004003 Except:
Fizzle detector on at 1.05 sec, off at 1.1 sec
all supplies invert time set to 1.0sec
For OH1,OH2U,OH2L,EF1U,EF2L: open times set to 7sec, crowbar to 7.1
and charging banks disabled in Paragon (no commutation)
For all shots not using EF3, the EF3 control power should be OFF
A-coil patch panel should be set up for +Gtop only (all others zero)
For the first shot, enable only TF (hybrid control)

Gas setup:
Fill B-top with 6psi D2 Hybrid Enabled (PG4)
All other valves NOT FILLED and NOT ENABLED
Torus Gate Valves closed during pulse

Enable the DNB Gate valve (assuming no vacuum problems)

All trees enabled except RF

Plan:

We'll be firing TF + one or more PF (or A-coils) with gas and DNB to calibrate
the MSE diagnostic.

PCS: Start from 1021004009 (which has IC_EF3 control on wire8); only segment 1
is used. Start with a TF-only shot and follow the SL plan for various PF and
A-coil currents. Note that when/if we get to the OH2U and OH2L shots the
predictor and controller for wire 10 will need to be changed, since the
"IC_OH2U" feedback actually controls the average current in the oh2's and this
plan requires them to run individually; should probably set these up ahead of
time.

All supplies will be run with flattop through 0.8sec, with the beam firing at
.70 to .75sec, to minimize transient and eddy current effects. Btop gas puff
should be moved from -.5 to +.4sec and increased from 332msec to 500msec
(target pressure is 1.5mTorr @0.7sec);
pressure should be checked and retuned if necessary after the first shot.


Results:

From the Physop point of view, this was a low stress run. The run got
off to a slow start, because of DNB gate-valve interlock issues, but
once we got started, things went quite smoothly. Many combinations of
fields were run, and we successfully had 34 duds. Shot 5 was a
no-power test; didn't get bus or alternator data on shot 4.
