Best shots: 1030528019 at 800 kA, 1030518030 at 1.2 MA.
E port is fine at 1.4 MW.
D port is good at 1. MW.
J port is good at 1.6 MW (total).

Highest total RF power 4.9 MW for 20 ms.
Long clean at 4.0 MW in shot 19.
Highest stored energy 149 kJ at 1.2 MA current

Problems: J3 tuning is a problem. We have to tune it manually. Power
level in E power is kind of suspicious.

Reducing the target density from 1.0 to 0.9 e20 seemed to significantly
enhance the antenna performance. The work on the demodulator yesterday
should also help. The antennas are just much better than before.

Injection seen from K-side of J-antenna in shot 18.

ECDC overnight in D2 at 2e-4 Torr, stopping by 07:00.
Bake at 60 C overnight.

Run begins at 09:00 and ends at 17:00.

Power systems the same as on 1030514024 (0.8 MA, 5.4 T, lower single null), EXCEPT
Leave the asymmetric control coils (C-coils) in the configuration of 1030522022:
+Dtop -Dbot -Jtop +Jbot

Gas setup:
fill B-Top with 6 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG4)
fill B-side lower with 1 psi Ar Hybrid enabled (PG1)
fill B-side upper with 10 psi D2 Hybrid DISABLED (PG2) (for ECDC)
fill C-side with 30 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG3)

Enable the following gate valves, assuming no vacuum problems:
ECE, DNB, VUV

RF Setup: All 4 transmitters in Run On by 08:00.

Results:

The machine ran well. We had discharges at 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 MW. The RF
got up to ~4MW total for short pulses. H/(H+D) started the day at about
5%, but was above 10% by the end of the run. The disruption on shot 18
(during RF) seemed to cause a step increase in H fraction.

Besides raising the current, phsyop tasks included decreasing clearin
to reduce both the outer and inner gaps.

After an early delay for EF4 cooling and RF turn-on, the first shot
had a number of camac/cpci/hybrid problems, which included saturated
signals on several hybrid inputs and no EF3 before t=0. The result was
a fizzle. Shot 2 was a no-power test. It was not clear what caused the
problem; a camac power supply was suspected, but this was not
confirmed. After that, there was 1 more fizzle (shot 28), possibly due
to a drift in B_R0.

We turned on the asymmetric control coils for shot 23 and
subsequent. It was not clear if there was any problem with locked
modes, but it seemed prudent for the higher plasma currents. Both
shots at 1.2 MA ramped all the way down.
