Boronization recovery and RF conditionning (MP355)

Power systems the same as on 1031106008 (0.8 MA, 5.4 T, Lower single
null)

Gas setup:

fill B-Top with 6 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG4)
fill B-side lower with 1 psi Ar Hybrid enabled (PG1)
leave B-side upper as is Hybrid DISABLED (PG2)
fill C-side with 30 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG3)

Enable the following gate valves: ECE, VUV, DNB

Run Plan:

Start with lower null plasmas and bring up machine and rf as possible.
We will start with 1031107029.

Summary:

11 plasmas. D port conditioned well. J-port was struggling. No improvement
from the beginning. A lot more plasma shots are needed to condition this
antenna.

E-port: By-pass capacitor in the driver was punched through. It will be
disassembled and repaired.

Summary:

We had many problems today. Every second shot was a fizzle or a dud,
independent of the PO attempts to control prepuff gas pressure. The
fields on good and bad shots were almost exactly the same, so the reason
for multiple fizzles/duds remain unclear.
Other problems include:
Run was delayed until 10:30 due to alternator problems.
First shot was a data system cycle because of the computer problem.
Several ion gauges failed several times, so sometimes we were not able
to determine the torus pressure before the shot (see details section
below for details)
There were several problems with CAMAc servers, one of them (CAMAC2)
producing a shot with wrong magnetic timing - the dud on shot 16

We had total of 22 shots.
11 plasmas
6 fizzles
4 duds
1 data system cycle

shot to shot. It is possible,
that shutting off the gate valve before the shot affects pressure
differently depending on whether
previous shot was fizzle or plasma.
We will disable pulsing the gate valve for the next 4 shots to see what
happens.
