The machine will be boronized overnight: dP 120 psi, on/off 0.75/0.25
Follow boronization by ECDC in helium until 07:00

Run begins at 09:00 and ends at 17:00.

Power systems the same as on last shot from run 1040106 (sln fiducial)

A-coils should be hooked up as on 1031204037 (+Dtop -Dbot -Jtop +Jbot), and
the power supply should be enabled.

Gas setup:
fill B-Top with 6 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG4)
fill B-side lower with 1 psi Ar Hybrid enabled (PG1)
leave B-side upper as is Hybrid DISABLED (PG2)
fill C-side with 30 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG3)


Enable the following gate valves: ECE, VUV, DNB

Condition antennas to 1.25 MW into H-mode using fiducial discharges

Summary:

Conditioning was fairly quick up to 1.25 MW into H-mode discharges.
The downside is that FMIT#1 had a non-recoverable xbar after 029. We
also investigated early faulting and have noticed that on high
performing discharges one of the antennas will fault between 100-150
msec and often be fault free for the remainder of the shot. No clear
cause for the fault has been identified yet.

MP 376, performance evaluation (2nd try)

Plasma performance is slightly above the level we obtained in
run 1031205, 1031209 and 1031210. The best shot, shot 22, we got
max stored energy of 210 kJ (1 MA) with 4.5 MW rf. The performance
was progressively better along with lower neutral pressure. However,
after several no-gas puff shots (24, 25), the impurity level was up.
As a result, we could not achieve the same performance as 22
late in the run-day (26, 27, 28, 29). The stored energy
seemed to be sensitive to the target density: higher density,
the H-mode is more EDA like, and the total stored energy is generally
lower.

However, I still don't know the magic knob yet. We did some
low density shots to unload the wall before the boronization,
the boronization was done with 120 PSI and ECDC in Helium (instead
of Deuterium).

There were definitely fewer antenna faults at lower neutral pressure.


FMIT #1 was done during shot 29 (after the rf pulse). It is
still under investigation.

Summary
-------

The machine was boronized overnight before this run. 120 psi of
diborane was used, followed by 3 hours of helium ecdc. 15 minutes of
ecdc in D2 followed the helium ecdc.

We started off with a cycle test and found data system problems. The
first plasma attempt was shot 4, which produced plasma into rampdown.
This shot was followed by several nice shots with progressively more
rf power. The h/(h+d), Zave, and radiated power were all much
improved over shot 1040106033, the fiducial shot from yesterday,
before boronization. We had several shots with stored energy above
200 kJ today, but with 5 MW of rf required (211 kJ on shot 22 for
example).


Problems

Data system problems before run. Lost bypass cap on FMIT1 FPA. Will
require a couple of days to fix.
