| Generally very small changes in mass 2 and 4 were seen for factor of a 1000 increases in mass 3. Mass 2 and mass 4 levels were very low compared to levels seen during plasma operation. Conclusion is that the helium 3 is still very pure and not the source of our increased h/(h+d).
Following the helium 3 puffs we filled the machine with up to 3 mTorr of b2d6 as indicated by TC3. GV1 and GV2 were closed and vessel gas was monitored through the bypass set at 170 clicks on RGA 1. Trend data was taken every minute. There was no indication of excessive hydrogen mixed in with the diborane. Very little change seen on mass 3 line relative to the mass 2 line. Absolute levels of mass 2 and mass 3 were very low compared to levels seen during plasma operation. RGA 1 data: mass 3: 9.8-10 before, 7.7-9 highest level mass 2: 1.7-9 7.4-9 |

| Aug 17 2005 11:52:30:713AM | Jim Irby | We will run several helium3 gas puffs today to check the purity of the gas with the RGA. We will also puff in b2d6 to make sure the DIIID bottle does not have high level of hydrogen. Discharges last week had H/(H+D) as high as 6%.
