C-Mod has been up-to-argon to remove a leaking sparker at B-hor. A new sparker has been installed at B-Hor using the impurity injector 4-1/8" gatevalve. A new cable has also been fabricated with what we hope is better shielding. The vessel was baked at 100 C and ECDC was run over the weekend to recover from the up-to-argon. The RGA indicates that the vacuum today is no worse than last Thursday evening or even early Friday morning. However, there may still be plasma cleanup work to do that will delay the start of the LH operation. Several no-power cycle tests will be required, taken I hope, before 9:00, to make sure that critical systems are back on-line following the sparker noise attack last Friday. The condition of the ACCESS system should also be checked out. MP# 298a: Startup Session leader: Wolfe Physics operator: Irby ECDC overnight in D2, pressure=2e-4 Torr. Rmin/Rdwell/Rmax = 44/45/103 cm. Bake at 60 C. The run will start at 09:00 and end at 17:00. Power systems as on 1070322001. A-coil configuration: normal [Dtop -Dbot -Jtop +Jbot] and enabled. Gas Setup: fill B-Top with 6 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG4) fill B-side lower with 1 psi Ar Hybrid DISABLED (PG1) leave B-side upper as is Hybrid DISABLED (PG2) fill B-main (C-side) with 40 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG3) NINJA pumped out disabled Enable the following gate valves and shutters: ECE, VUV, Z-bolo shutters Torvac setup: Gate valves open during pulse. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ICRF Setup: None LH Setup: Can be turned on if we regain reliable plasma operation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run plan: Start from 1070322001 and resume plasma operation |
