*** asking for 5 shot types, 2-3 shots each ***

*** NINJA filled with 10 PSI D2 for GPI ***

1) reestablish baseline case @ 5.4 T, 0.8 MA.
Use as template #1070504002 from prior
run of MP429 . This is an inner wall limited
shot at kappa=1.2 with a large outer gap of
about 3.5 cm. Do 2-3 shots at medium n.
Exercise probes and check out GPI.

2) retry low field case @2.8 T, 0.4 MA. Use as
template #1070504010 from prior run of
MP429, but either ramp down B faster so
as to reach B=2.8 T at 0.8 sec, or delay time
of interest until after 2.8 T has been reached
(~ 1 sec). These first low field shots should
be at lowest possible density. Do 2-3 shots.

3) keep same B, I as step (2), but try to raise the
density as much as possible. Do 2-3 shots
at this higher density.

4) move to B=4 T, I=0.6 MA, based on the same
template as shot type #1 (there is no prior shot
at this field for MP429). First attempts should
be at the lowest possible density. Do 2-3 shots.

5) after 2-3 good shots of type #4, try to raise density
as much as possible at this B, I. Do 2-3 shots at
this higher density.

6) if time allows, return to high field case B=6.8 T,
I=1.0 MA, using template #1070504008 from
prior run of MP429. Do medium density case.

ECDC overnight in D2, pressure=2e-4 Torr. Rmin/Rdwell/Rmax = 44/45/103 cm.
Bake at 60 C.

We have changed the toroidal field and current back to "normal" direction.

Power supply tests, under PLC control, will be carried out in the morning, to check the status of all coils and bus connections. Once complete, we will re-establish plasma operation, then move to MP429.

Power systems as on 1070503025.
A-coil configuration: normal [Dtop -Dbot -Jtop +Jbot] and enabled.

Gas Setup:
fill B-Top with 6 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG4)
fill B-side lower with 1 psi Ar Hybrid DISABLED (PG1)
leave B-side upper as is Hybrid DISABLED (PG2)
fill B-main (C-side) with 40 psi D2 Hybrid enabled (PG3)
leave NINJA as is DISABLED

Enable the following gate valves and shutters: ECE, VUV, Z-bolo shutters

Torvac setup: Gate valves open during pulse.

The run went well today. Planned as a half run, we got more than 5 good hours of operation.

We returned to "normal" field and current direction for today.
Power supply tests were completed by 11:00 am (first 13 cycles).

Plasma startup was good, with 20 good shots and 2 fizzles.

In the mid-afternoon, mass 28 on the RGA's rose substantially, and may have been partly responsible for the fizzle on shot 33. TF central column cooling was dialed back, and the leak rate steadied, or started to turn over.

All conditions for the MP were run, including density, field and current scans, in near-circular inner-wall-limited topology; see the session leader summary for details.

The last 3 cycles of the day were DNB into helium-4 gas for MSE tests.

I did not see the dnb striking the inner wall on the video. some question
whether the gate valve opened.
