Boronization overnight 5.4T run in D2. 1psi Ar enabled, puff at 0.3s, 50ms in length ICRF: up to 3MW from D+E; keep J in reserve in case needed Essential diagnostics: Thomson, TCI, ECE, standard bolometry and Lyman alpha, reflectometry, fast magnetics. Highly desired diagnostics: passive edge CXRS, Hirex rotation, divertor probes Cryopump NOT requested. A. Discharge development is needed to recover SSEP scan, while avoiding the trouble row of tiles, and also to promote up-down symmetry of the equilibrium. 1. Attempt to reproduce the equilibrium of shot 1080125013 (5.4T, 800kA, target nl04=7e19, SSEP jogging twice during flattop). ICRF will tune D+E at low power (~1--2MW) during 1.3--1.5s. 2. Increase RXL as needed to raise strike point to the 4th tile. 3MW from D+E from 0.6s to 1.5s. This is an attempt to reproduce density and temperature pedestal modification observed in 2007-08. 2a.If necessary, adjust ZCUR program to achieve SSEP steps of -4mm, ~0mm, and +4mm. 3. Increase RXU so that triangularity is matched in the LSN/USN cases. 3MW from D+E from 0.6s to 1.5s. B. Keep discharge developed for A3. Keep ICRF program. Modify ZCUR to obtain steady H-mode periods of >200ms (3 per shot), changing SSEP on each shot to obtain a set of measurements at -6mm, -4mm, -2mm, +2mm, +4mm, +6mm. C. Raise Ip to 1MA, nl04 demand to 1e20. Keep ICRF program. Modify ZCUR to obtain steady H-mode periods of >200ms (3 per shot), changing SSEP on each shot to obtain a set of measurements at -6mm, -4mm, -2mm, +2mm, +4mm, +6mm. Try tweaking nl04 if steady H-modes are not accessible. D. If steady H-modes were achieved in C, go to 1.2MA and increase nl04 demand to 1.2e20. E. If there's enough time, repeat the method in B, C, and D at Ip=600kA, nl04=6e19. F. When the clock strikes 4:00, do a series of ZCUR scans at each Ip that's been successfully tried so far, with ICRF OFF. Insofar as possible, use divertor probes and plenum pressures to "calibrate" SSEP. |

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Boronization: yes, overnight
ICRF Setup: All three transmitters in run-on by 08:30
LH Setup: no
DNB: no
Cryopump: no
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run plan: SSEP jogs; Load from 1080125013; recall all magnetics predictors
in seg 2 to bring them up-to-date. Zero segs 3 & 4. Import seg
1 from Wednesday (1091014019). (I did all this several days before
today's run and saved it in /home/granetz/pcs_scratch as shot
1091015000.)
Additional info from session leader:
"This shot needs to be tweaked however. The outer strike should be
moved out of the tungsten trouble area. Simultaneously, I'd like
to match the R-positions of the upper and lower x-point. This is
because of an outstanding concern that, in these SSEP scans,
triangularity changed when we transitioned from LSN to USN.
For the first shot though, let's see if we can just repeat
1080125013. I'll have RF tune on the latter part of the shot"
See the session leader's run plan in the logbook for detailed
information.

| This experiment was intended to improve the data set of pedestals and
confinement as a function of magnetic balance in near DN configurations. Preliminary conclusion: At 1MA, with ICRF at the 2.5MW power level, a confinement degradation is observed as the H-mode is shifted from slightly LSN to DN, and then to USN. The density pumpout at USN previously observed in 800kA discharge was not reproduced. Because of the low success rate that resulted from inconsistent startup, it was determined that we should ECDC overnight and resume the experiment tomorrow. Notes: The overnight boronization left us with a lot of gas in the walls at the beginning of the morning, which led to high neutral pressure and hampered attempts to bring up ICRF. Initially we thought that this was because the He ECDC was omitted following the boronization, but upon further inspection it seems to have been done. Whatever the reason I took advantage of the high density to 1.) develop an optimal up-down symmetric shape for this experiment (part A of run plan) and to 2.) "calibrate" EFIT's SSEP by performing Ohmic SSEP scans and looking at the divertor pressures and probe data (part F of run plan). The middle part of the run consisted of trying to get the density control back and recover ICRF. It was a struggle with disruptions, injections, fizzles and duds from shot 11 onward, but by shot 20, there were promising signs. We started to obtain EDA H-modes at 1MA with SSEP ranging from -6mm to +3mm. By shot 32 I had become disenchanted with the "jogs" in ZCUR and decided to try flat programming, with some slow ramps mixed in. Combined with the improved startup reliability engineered by Granetz from shot 31 on, the final hour or so produced the most useful data. Detailed shot list: 001: Fizzle 002: Fizzle 003: Approximately reproduced 1080125013 equilibrium. Run summary for Wednesday 2009/10/21
MP527 - H-mode SSEP scans
Session leaders: J. Hughes
Physics operator: R. Granetz
Power supplies and computers all ran well today, but I had a lot of fizzles
and duds. The startup was not robust. We boronized overnight before the
run, and there were some 1.2 and 1.0 MA disruptions, which might explain
some of the startup troubles, but certainly not all of them. I made small
gas tweaks all day long, without notable improvement in startup
robustness. After shot 30 I tweaked Bz0, and then got 5 good shots in a
row (right to the end of the run), so maybe that change was significant.
The run plan mostly involved changing SSEP during the discharges, which was
accomplished by jogging ZCUR. This was quite successful. We also
different a few different plasma currents, and a couple of different
densities.
This MP will continue tomorrow, and a good starting shot is the final one
from today, 1091021036.
Scorecard: 23 plasmas
5 duds
8 fizzles
0 power supply tests
0 no-power MDS shot cycles

Total: 36 shot cycles

| Oct 21 2009 10:23:56:393AM | Jerry Hughes | There was a bit of a goof in the setup for this run. Post-boronization
ECDC was done in D2 rather than He, due to Bob having straight-up copied the PO plan from last time. So, too much gas to start the day. Never mind. They actually did the He ECDC for 2 hours. | |
| Oct 21 2009 09:05:45:630AM | 1091021001 | Jerry Hughes | RF story as of now:
J-port is unavailable (went down on final shot yesterday). D-port has so far not taken HV, but may be available given another ~15 minutes. E-port is available, and can tune up into the end of the flattop, per the run plan. Attempt: Reproduce 1080125013. Result: Fizzle. |
| Oct 21 2009 09:17:50:480AM | 1091021002 | Jerry Hughes | According to Yijun, both D+E are ready now.
Attempt: Reproduce 1080125013. Result: Fizzle. |
| Oct 21 2009 09:46:47:897AM | 1091021003 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Reproduce 1080125013 equilibrium.
Result: Ohmic, with SSEP values of -5mm, 0mm and +4mm. SSEP scan basically overlays the target shot. Pressure rise in upper chamber and UDIV probe flux roughly consistent with the EFIT shift to DN and USN. Neutral pressure too high for D and E. |
| Oct 21 2009 09:47:47:473AM | 1091021004 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Rerun shot 3 with RXL shifted out to avoid W tile issue.
Result: Fizzle |
| Oct 21 2009 10:09:54:140AM | 1091021005 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Rerun shot 3 with RXL shifted out to avoid W tile issue.
Result: Outer strike is better. D and E continue to be unhappy. |
| Oct 21 2009 10:20:55:253AM | 1091021006 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Modify shot 5 by increasing RXU.
Result: Ohmic, SSEP of -6mm, -1mm, +4mm. Density still high. Earl is advocating a 1MA disruption. We'll get there soon, I tell him. |
| Oct 21 2009 10:35:32:650AM | 1091021007 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Lower ZXU from shot 6.
Result: Ohmic with SSEPs of -3mm, +2mm and +6mm. A much better up-down match. RXL and RXU nearly match. Need to raise ZXU a bit. D and E showing signs of life. |
| Oct 21 2009 10:44:28:933AM | 1091021008 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Shot 7 with modified ZXU.
Result: The USN equilibrium reflects closely onto the LSN equilibrium, so that kappa and deltas are reasonably matched in the 2 cases. Ohmic, with SSEPs of -4mm, +1mm, and +6mm. D and E are getting some energy in. Pressures are coming down. |
| Oct 21 2009 10:54:31:530AM | 1091021009 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: raise Ip to 1MA, keeping nl04 request unchanged.
Result: 1MA Ohmic, SSEP values ranging from -4mm to +6mm. Bursts of RF late. |
| Oct 21 2009 11:13:23:947AM | 1091021010 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Ip to 1.2MA
Result: Ohmic, mostly, with similar shaping to the previous two shots. SSEP ranges from -4mm to +5mm. Outer strike in LSN may be a little too low for comfort when RF is applied. Got some power from D. Should add that this disrupted early due to a power supply limit being reached. |
| Oct 21 2009 11:30:43:500AM | 1091021011 | Jerry Hughes | We've more or less completed A and F of the run plan at this point.
Attempt: Repeat shot 10 with a faster ZCUR jog at 0.75s (100ms instead of 150ms.) Also, allow RF to start at 0.6s. Result: 1.5MW ICRF L-mode, 1.2MA, SSEP of -4mm. Full current disruption, right as we try to sweep through DN, and kappa is at its highest. We will back off the current to try to avoid this kind of disruption. E performs well until the instability kicks in at 0.87s. 2pi diode and foil traces do not look well at all. |
| Oct 21 2009 11:42:06:910AM | 1091021012 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Reduce to 1MA to avoid instability.
Result: Fizzle. |
| Oct 21 2009 11:51:31:680AM | 1091021013 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 1MA
Result: Fizzle. Needs some gas pulse voodoo. |
| Oct 21 2009 12:18:25:503PM | 1091021014 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 1MA
Results: Some ELM-free H-modes very close to DN. RF not steady yet. There is what looks like bad pick-up on the bolos, particularly the 2pi foil. Is that correlated with D-port? Judging from shot 11, it looks like its actually correlated wit E-port. Strike point may be encroaching on the W row of tiles. |
| Oct 21 2009 12:28:02:183PM | 1091021015 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Repeat shot 14 with the ZCUR jogs delayed. Now they are from 0.85 to
0.95 and from 1.15 to 1.25s. Result: SSEP trace looks pretty good. 2 ELM free H-modes at SSEP of -4mm. RF still not steady. I am concerned that the outer strike is precariously low. Having Bob shift RXL and RXU out for next shot. |
| Oct 21 2009 12:34:44:560PM | 1091021016 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Retry 1MA with improved x-point/strike. Result: Lets just forget this shot ever happened. |
| Oct 21 2009 12:53:22:677PM | 1091021017 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 1MA shot with improved X-point/strikes, and nl04 demand at 1e20.
This should make it a proper attempt at part C of run plan. (Note that I have skipped part B for now.) Result: Fizzle. |
| Oct 21 2009 01:07:18:027PM | 1091021018 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Retry 1MA shot with improved X-point/strikes, and nl04 demand at 1e20. The photograph of Flounder from "Animal House" is in place at the SL workstation. Result: Flounder didn't help. Shot was a dud. |
| Oct 21 2009 01:27:35:253PM | 1091021019 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Retry 1MA shot with improved X-point/strikes, and nl04 demand at 1e20. Result: Big injection kills shot at 0.35--0.37s. |
| Oct 21 2009 01:40:59:943PM | 1091021020 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Retry 1MA shot with improved X-point/strikes, and nl04 demand at 1e20. Result: A full length plasma! An H-mode, EDA-like , triggered with SSEP of -1mm. Only had E-port, however. This shows promise, but we need full power. |
| Oct 21 2009 02:23:17:400PM | 1091021021 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 20 with improved ICRF.
Result: Big improvement. Got almost 2.5MW ICRF with D and E, with a few faults. EDA H-mode, with periods at SSEP of -4mm, +1mm, +5mm. Pedestal degradation seems pretty clear as we shift toward USN. Te,ped drops. If ne,ped is changing systematically with SSEP, it's subtle. t=0.95--1.15s: ne,ped is 3--3.5e20. Te,ped is decreasing from 300eV to 250eV. H98 drops from 0.7 to 0.6, having peaked at 0.8 at 0.8s. |
| Oct 21 2009 02:02:30:813PM | 1091021022 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Retry 21, with ZCUR shifted by -3mm. Also extend RF pulse out to 1.5s. Result: Fizzle. |
| Oct 21 2009 02:15:30:817PM | 1091021023 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 21, with ZCUR shifted by -3mm. Also extend RF pulse out to 1.5s.
Result: Fuddy dud. |
| Oct 21 2009 02:39:03:653PM | 1091021024 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 21, with ZCUR shifted by -3mm. Also extend RF pulse out to 1.5s.
Result: EDA H-mode. More radiation than on 21. Little injections at 0.74s, 0.9s seem to be to blame. We should try again and see if a cleaner plasma can be obtained. |
| Oct 21 2009 02:40:30:187PM | 1091021025 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 24 and hope for lower Prad.
Result: Fizzle |
| Oct 21 2009 03:02:18:040PM | 1091021026 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Retry 24. Result: H-mode, EDA. Prad evolving. D-port gave out early. Even if it had stayed on, I think confinement would have degraded with the SSEP jog upward. For the next shot, I want to hold SSEP steady at its initial value. Nate has permission to perform LBO at 1s. |
| Oct 21 2009 03:06:57:243PM | 1091021027 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: 1MA, with flat SSEP at -5mm or so. Result: Dud |
| Oct 21 2009 03:30:45:800PM | 1091021028 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: 1MA, with flat SSEP at -5mm or so.
Result: Got the flat SSEP, good ICRF, EDA H-mode. Wrecked by LBO at 1s. Now Nathan gets quelled for a while. H-mode reforms at same density, but with higher Prad. |
| Oct 21 2009 03:34:32:300PM | 1091021029 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 28 without the "non-perturbative" impurity injection.
Result: A dud. If I were Reinke I'd be swearing vociferously right now. |
| Oct 21 2009 03:46:22:930PM | 1091021030 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Retry 28 without the "non-perturbative" impurity injection. Result: Dud |
| Oct 21 2009 04:08:29:860PM | 1091021031 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Again, retry the steady EDA at flat SSEP.
Result: A successful startup! EDA H-mode at SSEP of ~-4mm with 2.4MW RF from .7 to 1.5s. Ratcheting Prad at 0.86--0.9s kills the confinement. It doesn't take a lot of excess Prad to knock down the Te pedestal at these levels of RF. |
| Oct 21 2009 04:29:40:133PM | 1091021032 | Jerry Hughes |
Attempt: Repeat shot 31 with a ZCUR ramp up from 1.2 to 1.5s. Result: 2 in a row! Very steady EDA, H98=.73. SSEP ramps from -5mm to -1mm over 1.2--1.5s. No big change in peddies or confinement until the burst of Prad at 1.43s. |
| Oct 21 2009 05:05:16:477PM | 1091021033 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Increased ramp rate on ZCUR to push through DN to USN by 1.5s
Result: Lost D-port early, so only had 1.3MW RF. No H-mode until 1.34s, as the plasma approached DN. Veddy interesting. Is there a local minimum in Pth as was seen on MAST, and to a lesser extent, AUG? The resulting H-mode is rather tepid (H98~0.5). Neutron alert as of this shot. ROTFL. |
| Oct 21 2009 04:47:34:203PM | 1091021034 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: Retry 33 with full power.
Result: Another steady EDA. The SSEP ramp from 1.2 to 1.5s degrades the confinement, though not the density pedestal. Te,ped droops, despite a concurrent drop in Prad. |
| Oct 21 2009 05:00:25:880PM | 1091021035 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: 1MA EDA with a SSEP ramp down.
Result: Good shot. Steady EDA at 2.4MW RF, no appreciable change in confinement or pedestal during SSEP ramp (down to -9mm by 1.5s) |
| Oct 21 2009 05:08:42:947PM | 1091021036 | Jerry Hughes | Attempt: One more steady 1MA H-mode with reduced amplitude LBO at 1.2s.
Result: There is at least one injection there that is not planned. |

| Oct 21 2009 08:53:24:000AM | Robert Granetz | DPCS loaded from /home/granetz/pcs_scratch shot 1091015000 (same setup as for last Thursday's aborted run) | |
| Oct 21 2009 09:12:09:523AM | 1091021001 | Robert Granetz | Shot 01 -- Fizzle. Very high pre-fill pressure even though the pre-fill pulse length is only 21 ms. Next shot: reduce pre-fill pulse to 18 ms. |
| Oct 21 2009 09:22:40:170AM | 1091021002 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 02 -- Fizzle. Better than the preceding fizzle. Pressure is still a bit high. Steve Wolfe tells me
that the F-side ratiomatic calibration is incorrect after it was repaired yesterday, so I'm flying
a little blind on the pressure
Next shot: reduce pre-fill another 2 ms
|
| Oct 21 2009 09:40:32:583AM | 1091021003 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 03 -- Plasma, full length. 0.8 MA, 5.4 T, 0.9-1.0e20 m-2. Spectroscopy traces have the wrong
timebase (also on shot 01). Equilibrium starts as SNL, then goes to DN, then to SNU, just
as it's supposed to. No RF power.
Next shot: move RXL out by 3 mm to ensure the strikepoint remains above the 3rd row of divertor tiles;
also change C-coil "on" time to 0.2 s, instead of 0.3 s
|
| Oct 21 2009 09:49:11:053AM | 1091021004 | Robert Granetz | Shot 04 -- Fizzle. No spectroscopy data. Pre-fill was higher than the previous shot. Next shot: reduce pre-fill by 2 ms. Also change DPCS_FIZZLE source_shot to 1090731017. |
| Oct 21 2009 10:07:13:733AM | 1091021005 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 05 -- Plasma, full length. 0.8 MA, 5.4 T, 0.9e20 m-2. SNL --> DN --> SNU.
Divertor strikepoint looks good. Still no RF power.
Next shot: move RXU out by 1.5 cm
|
| Oct 21 2009 10:21:03:927AM | 1091021006 | Robert Granetz | Shot 06 -- Plasma, full length. RXU looks good. Next shot: move ZXU down by 1 cm |
| Oct 21 2009 10:33:39:180AM | 1091021007 | Robert Granetz | Shot 07 -- Plasma, full length. ZXU moved alot. Next shot: move ZXU upwards by 2 mm. |
| Oct 21 2009 10:41:55:620AM | 1091021008 | Robert Granetz | Shot 08 -- Plasma, full length. 0.8 MA. D-port antenna is starting to come to life. Next shot: increase Ip to 1.0 MA. |

|
| Oct 21 2009 11:19:41:103AM | 1091021010 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 10 -- Plasma, disrupted at t=1.45 s. 1.2 MA. Density was climbing rapidly.
Next shot: tweak ZCUR programming; increase OH1 limit to -30 kA (from -27) and EF3 limit
to 13 kA (from 12)
|
| Oct 21 2009 11:26:37:390AM | 1091021011 | Robert Granetz |

upper and lower shape parameters matched
|
| Oct 21 2009 12:48:03:910PM | 1091021016 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 16 -- Plasma. Early disruption at t=0.50 s. The plasma became very resistive due to an injection
at t=0.14 s. It was all downhill from there. PF breaker pulled; lots of PF supplies crowbarred.
Next shot: increase nl_04 to 1.0e20 m-2
|
| Oct 21 2009 12:55:55:240PM | 1091021017 | Robert Granetz | Shot 17 -- Fizzle, weak. Next shot: reduce pre-fill 2 ms (to 10 ms) |
| Oct 21 2009 01:06:35:870PM | 1091021018 | Robert Granetz | Shot 18 -- Dud. Pressure finally got too low. Next shot: increase pre-fill by 3 ms (to 13 ms) |
| Oct 21 2009 01:24:02:953PM | 1091021019 | Robert Granetz | Shot 19 -- Plasma, disrupted early at t=0.38 s due to an injection. Next shot: try again, no changes |
| Oct 21 2009 01:39:10:897PM | 1091021020 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 20 -- Plasma, full length, but it almost died at t=0.13 s. 1.0 MA, 1.0e20 m-2, 1+ MW from E only.
EDA H-mode. Strikepoint is good.
Next shot: no DPCS changes; want more RF power
|
| Oct 21 2009 01:57:29:700PM | 1091021021 | Robert Granetz | Shot 21 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA, 1.0e20 m-2. D and E each gave 1+ MW. Nice EDA H-mode. Next shot: modify ZCUR programming...move entire trace down by 3 mm |
| Oct 21 2009 02:02:28:843PM | 1091021022 | Robert Granetz | Shot 22 -- Fizzle. Startup is not robust today. Next shot: reduce pre-fill by 1 ms |
| Oct 21 2009 02:13:16:613PM | 1091021023 | Robert Granetz | Shot 23 -- Dud. Next shot: okay, try raising the pre-fill this time. Add 3 ms. |
| Oct 21 2009 02:33:05:667PM | 1091021024 | Robert Granetz | Shot 24 -- Plasma. Disrupted at t=1.29 s. Vertically unstable. 1.0 MA. 2+ MW (D+E) Next shot: add 1 ms to pre-fill |
| Oct 21 2009 02:38:34:030PM | 1091021025 | Robert Granetz | Shot 25 -- Fizzle. Next shot: reduce pre-fill by 2 ms |
| Oct 21 2009 03:03:46:303PM | 1091021026 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 26 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA. 1.3 MW from E-port. Long EDA H-mode, followed by some short
ones.
Next shot: get rid of ZCUR jogs so that plasma will stay SNL; also get rid of late
CLEARIN FLUXIHH routine by loading CLEAR
|
| Oct 21 2009 03:07:07:320PM | 1091021027 | Robert Granetz | Shot 27 -- Dud. No EF3s Next shot: repeat, no changes |
| Oct 21 2009 03:26:50:220PM | 1091021028 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 28 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA. SNL for the entire flattop. Prf=2.4 MW from D+E.
Two long EDA H-modes. Laser blowoff injection of CaF2 happened at t=1.0 s, which
caused an increase in Prad, and a short transition back to L-mode, but no net
density increase.
Next shot: repeat, but without LBO
|
| Oct 21 2009 03:34:27:363PM | 1091021029 | Robert Granetz | Shot 29 -- Dud. The previous shot had a nice startup, and I didn't change a thing. Next shot: reduce pre-fill by 1 ms |
| Oct 21 2009 03:53:45:887PM | 1091021030 | Robert Granetz | Shot 30 -- Dud. Everything looks just like shot 28, which was a good startup. I'm baffled. Next shot: add -15 A to IC_EF4U to reduce Bz0 |
| Oct 21 2009 04:05:20:360PM | 1091021031 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 31 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA. SNL for entire flattop. One long EDA H-mode.
Prf=2.4 MW (D+E).
Next shot: tweak ZCUR programming; I'll be satisfied with two plasmas in a row, at
this point.
|
| Oct 21 2009 04:18:09:317PM | 1091021032 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 32 -- Plasma, full length. Two in a row...my wish was granted. One long, very steady
EDA H-mode...REALLY steady. The ZCUR ramp in the late flattop is there, but doesn't have
much effect, apparently. Prf=2.4 MW from D+E
Next shot: more ZCUR programming changes
|
| Oct 21 2009 04:28:10:460PM | 1091021033 | Robert Granetz | Shot 33 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA. D-port didn't go. Next shot: repeat to get power from both D & E |
| Oct 21 2009 04:47:11:360PM | 1091021034 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 34 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA. Prf=2.4 MW from D+E. One long EDA H-mode. ZCUR ramped again,
but it doesn't seem to be affecting things much.
Next shot: change ZCUR programming so that it moves downward by 10 mm after t=1.2 s.
|
| Oct 21 2009 04:58:04:910PM | 1091021035 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 35 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA. ZCUR ramped downwards by 10 mm after t=1.2 s. Prf=2.4 MW (D+E).
Long EDA H-mode.
Next shot: remove the ramp from ZCUR; fire the LBO with CaF2 at t=1.2 s; this will be the last shot today
|
| Oct 21 2009 05:09:27:273PM | 1091021036 | Robert Granetz |
Shot 36 -- Plasma, full length. 1.0 MA, 5.4 T, 1.0-1.1e20 m-2 (target). I don't think the LBO worked.
Prf=2.4 MW (D+E).
End of run
