Marmar MP: 605 LH2 Lower Hybrid Launcher Checkout and Conditioning LH Setup: Launcher 1.5 mm behind limiter; 60, 90, 120 degree current-drive phasing; 100-200 kW net power; LH on from 0.7 to 1.2s. Reference shot: At phys-op's discretion. Looking for an L-mode, nl_04 ~ 3-8e19, 800 kA, 5.4 T. Shot Plan: Pulse LH system into dummy loads until full length plasmas become available. Begin with co-current 90 degree ideal phasing; disable CPS; set LH2 launcher to 1.5 mm behind LH limiters Establish operations at ~100 kW, 20 ms pulses with bypassed CPS (3 shots) Vary plasma density during pulse (ramp nl04 from ~3-8e19) (if possible), or if not adequate to trip CPS, vary plasma position (outer gap) to verify CPS operation (trip annunciation) (3-5 shots) Reset CPS trip points as necessary (should not require cell access unless trip level is above 50% reflected power) Repeat shots with CPS ratio arc protection enabled to verify new trip points (3-5 shots) Repeat shots with CPS ratio and time derivative arc protection enabled to verify new CPS trip points (3-5 shots) Take shots at 60, 90, 120 current drive phasing to verify operation at a range of n|| (3 shots) Increase pulse length at low power (~200 kW) to 0.5 s; verify proper operation of CPS (3 shots) Day 1 total: |

| MP: 605 LH2 Lower Hybrid Launcher Checkout and Conditioning
Progress on initial operation of the LH2 launcher was as expected. C-Mod was running well after the first few shots. The CPS trip levels are properly adjusted for 60 and 90 degree phases. Nuisance trips are still problematic at 120 degrees. Tomorrow will be another run on this MP to continue adjusting the CPS for 120 degree operation and to increase power/pulse length. |

| For the second full run day after a long vent, plasma operation went very well. The machine is starting to clean up, and by the end of the day we had 11 full length pulses in a row. No problems with hard x-rays today, just spikes at disruptions. The Lower Hybrid managed a number of short, low power pulses into plasma. H/(H+D) is running in the 50% range.
After shot 9, one of the probe/thermocouple racks had to be turned off (shorted/burned component(s)), and we did not have any limiter T.C. data for the rest of the day. At the very end of the day, we had two no-power shots (28 and 29) due to alternator vibration trips during excitation.
