| SL_SUMMARY for the first half run: MP702
We tried 8 shots. 2 full-length shots (002,003) 1 shot no power (001) 1 early disruption (006) 4 fizzles (004,005,007,008) Shot 2 is locked mode for hirex-sr caliration. Shot 3 we got non-local effect on the temperature at low density (nl04~0.32) and low current (0.55MA). After shot 8, there was connecting problem for HiReX. Also the time was limiting and CaF2 slide might not be able to last as many shots as we need, we decided to turn over the left of the run to MP 676/677. Hopefully we can get another half run day. |

| part 2 --- shots 09 to 25 --- Investigate Polarimeter Signal-to-Noise
Level with LH plasma parameters We hoped to use this half day to produce plasmas similar to ones that are useful for lower hybrid current drive experiments, and to see what we could do to improve the polarimeter signal-to-noise. We began by loading 1120601027 from last Friday in which the LH performed well. Several discharges were produced w/o changing any plasma parameters to assess the shot-to-shot variation in the polar signals. On shot 17 I added a jog in the current at the 50 kA level. We were able to see the jog on the polar signals, but it was really close to the noise/vibrational level. On shot 18 we increased the TF from 5.44 to 6 T and found very little change in signal-to-noise or timing of the vibrations. On shot 20 we changed the TF start time from -1 to -1.1 s. This change actually improved the vibration levels around t=0, and should make determination of the polar baselines easier. We took a few shots at the end of the run at higher density and current to be able to compare with earlier data. We also added a 300 kA down ramp from 800 kA while keeping the density fairly constant. Not too surpised to see this change very clearly on the polarimeter. |

| part 1 --- shots 01 to 08 ---- Cold Pulse
We had many problems during part 1 of this run day. We had several issues with the data system, some of which were caused by the failure of a data switch overnight. It was replaced during the night, but not all servers were rebooted. So we had to both reboot the servers and restart the Cycle. Figuring this problem out took a few shots. We also had claims of ACK and IGOR failures, possibly related to the first problem. We also had the recurrence of a problem with the OH2 supplies not following their programming from the start (-1.1 s). The currents were off by several hundred Amps by t=0. So we had several fizzles until that issue was resolved (reset afols). The first plasma shot today was a locked mode discharge.
