| 951101 This run was dedicated to EF4 checkout and debugging. After 9 test shots, the engineers requested a plasma shot. 10. Set up from 951031020, using pulsed fill (100 volt), with 1 msec added to the pulse. Power supplies seemed ok; dud. There was no pressure rise by t=0 above the base pressure (~3e-7). The valve is obviously not reproducible, probably especially for the first shot(s) of the day. Many magnetics camac errors. 11. gas only, no power supplies; still no gas after first pulse 12. gas only; add 21 volt offset to valve starting at t=-2s. Still no good. 13. (a) attempt for plasma with prefill 1.8e-5. Alternator problem; shot aborted during check. 13. (b) gas only; set offset to 28V; barely any change. 14. gas only; set offset to 33V; a little gas, but not enough. 15. gas only; 40 ms pulse at 60 V; got about 2e-7 at t=0. Run aborted because of problem with UPS. Conclusion: the approach of using a short 100 V prepulse, which worked for 3 shots on 951031, needs to be rethought.
