May 9 1997 07:35:31:950AMSteve WolfeSetting up for power tests. We will be excersizing the hybrid today, so
I need to check it out again. Last night when I tried, we found the
hybrid crate was off-line. Joe Bosco found tre fibers and put them back,
following which everything worked, following a coldstart.

07:30 Coldstart ok

May 9 1997 07:49:41:750AMSteve WolfeStart setting up PCS for test shots.
Load from 960802010, which was a full hybrid control setup from last
campaign.

Turn off seg 2.

The first candidate for hybrid control is the chopper.
Voltage waveform is ramping from .048 to .100, then zero.
Initial fast ZCUR gains are D=1, P=2.4

Do a Load_into_model (Load/clean)
All messages look ok.

May 9 1997 08:03:40:660AM970509001Steve WolfeFirst test shot.
Only Engineering tree is in the Cmod_manage list, so there won't be a lot
of data.

EF1U amd L test. 2kA PLC
Current waveforms look ok. Not seeing the Supply voltages yet.
Looks like a screw-up on the digitizer setups. We are seeing voltages on
EF2 supplies.

Also, Vinnies power supply control panel blew away with a message about
parent of node is off, on setting EF2U.

May 9 1997 08:32:36:680AM970509002Steve WolfeFOr shot 2, include mhd::magnetics, mhd::analysis, and hybrid.

TWF being consulted on tree setup, control panel.

Repeat of shot 1 - EFIU&L PLC test.
Got CAMAC this time, EF1L voltage is very hashy.

Fast ZCUR seems to have an offset of 2000 (phys_a_out scope).
Br0 at .004.

May 9 1997 08:42:22:090AM970509003Steve WolfeFOr shot 3, EF2 U and L.

EF2L single-phasing for a very long time (>4sec). Only got to 500A,
RCUR offset is 10000, which seems to be what it's set at in the PCS
Br_0 offset in PCS is .0055, and phys_a_out signal is .003.
I need to look at the inputs and magnetics data.

May 9 1997 09:17:40:880AM970509004Steve WolfeShot 4 - try the chopper.
Set for start at -.005 invert at .150, V=700, I=1000
Granetz going into cell to turn on magnetics integrators - they were
off. Will need to check offsets to hybrid again. I knew I should be looking
at the mag signals!

Nothing. Vinnie says he knows why./
Chopper 30V supply is dead again. I wish we knew why this always happens.
The chopper scope in the hybrid.scopes area has some very funny traces.

May 9 1997 09:35:47:230AM970509005Steve WolfeShot 5 - Changed two fuses in Chopper
Try again.

GOt a pulse. Looks like the Cap bank dumped and the TMX turned off?
It doesn't look like the demand signal is getting through.

Also, the fizzle detector is not in evidence (should be at 0.08 sec).
Fizzle detector went, but it looks lke it may not have made it through to the supply.
May 9 1997 10:00:11:630AM970509006Steve WolfeSHot 6- Turn off the chopper
Try a 5kA OH test, set it so the f.d should take it out at -.1 sec, to test fizzle function.

Seems to have worked. FD took them out on schedule.

OH resistances were 0.9uohm on OH1, lower on OH2's .
Jim's program announced 246.48 uohm because it looks at t=0-, after the fd had taken out the
supplies.
May 9 1997 10:29:59:330AM970509007Steve WolfeShot 7- OH commutaiton test at 10kA.

Backed out - heat alarm, and they need to go out to turn on the HV supplies for commutation.

Try again- Looks like commutaion worked.
BP12_jk is giving errors - Bob says these are real: need to swap the coil.
F20 partial is ok, despite message.

FD may have worked, with about a 15msec delay? It does start down before .1, which is the
programmed invert time.

Jim says OH resistance is less this time.
May 9 1997 10:47:51:140AM970509008Steve WolfeShot 8- TF only pulse. Looks good, ~100kA.

Got a gas burst during th e pulse.
May 9 1997 10:50:11:670AM970509009Steve WolfeShot 9 - TF only 150 kA.

TF looks ok, Got another gas burst.
May 9 1997 11:16:15:290AM970509010Steve WolfeShot 10 - TF + EF4
Turn on Edge Gas tree nodes, so we can see the burst. Closed off GV3.

TF ok, EF4 ok at -2740amps, anout a 10A imbalance at the end of the pulse.
No ratiomatic data, got device nmot triggered error on store cycle
May 9 1997 11:22:26:900AM970509011Steve WolfeSHot 11 - EF1 again. Looks the same as 2
May 9 1997 11:32:13:660AM970509012Steve WolfeSHot 12 - TF + EF4 in reverse direction.

There seems to be a hardware problem on triggering the f-port ratiomatic. JAS tried a manual
cycle and it still didn't work.

EF4 in + direction looks ok, lots of induced current in EF3, as usual.
TF looks fine at -150kA.
BP26_BC reports a baseline offset 3.3e-01 .
May 9 1997 11:55:59:600AM970509013Steve WolfeSHot 13- TF + EF4 double swing under hybrid control.
start=-1.1, off = +.6, fizzle .7, -3.5 +3 as current limits

No EF4 - Looks like the AFOL signal is not getting to the supply.
BP26_BC is definetely gronked.

Ribbon cable to AFOL in interface room was disconnected.??^((^&($#**$
PUt it back for next shot. Also extend timer on supply for > 1sec pulse.
May 9 1997 12:05:33:180PM970509014Steve WolfeSHot 14- TF + EF4 double swing under hybrid control.
start=-1.1, off = +.6, fizzle .7, -3.5 +3 as current limits

EF4 looks good. It helps to have the hybrid output connected!
May 9 1997 12:19:22:760PM970509015Steve WolfeShot 15- TF + EF3 PLC control (10KA)
Got 9KA on EF3. Looks fine.

Still getting a gas burst - RGA says it's TEFLON-like ?
May 9 1997 12:34:58:130PM970509016Steve WolfeShot 16- Try EFC again. with TF this time.
TF invert time to .2 sec, FD to .08

Got current on the chopper . We are now getting demand to it.
Static V is sagging, I don't know why.
May 9 1997 12:56:31:300PM970509017Steve WolfeShot 17- Try EFC again. with TF this time.
EFC current limit to 2.5kA, fd to .18 sec

Chopper looks ok this time, I think. Maybe. There is some funniness on the bus current,
but it is only digitizing at 1500Hz so it may well be aliased.

May 9 1997 01:21:53:320PM970509018Steve WolfeShot 18- TF + OH1
OH under hybrid control. Set up for 10kA and turn off all the magnetics feedbacks.

Set up OH1 for -10kA to +10kA swing. back to zero at .718sec
Copy trace to OH2U (really the average)
Extend P gain on OH1, but zero it for OH2U because I don't want to do those with no difference
command.

OH1 only went one way - timed out after 1sec.
May 9 1997 01:33:03:590PM970509019Steve WolfeShot 19- TF + OH1 Try again.
OH under hybrid control. Set up for 10kA and turn off all the magnetics feedbacks.

Set up OH1 for -10kA to +10kA swing. back to zero at .5sec
Copy trace to OH2U (really the average)
Extend P gain on OH1, but zero it for OH2U because I don't want to do those with no difference
command.

Looks ok, it has a couple KA of overshoot on the + side. I am using only P gain

May 9 1997 01:55:57:600PM970509020Steve WolfeShot 20- TF + OH1 + OH2's Try again.
OH's under hybrid control. Set up for 10kA and turn off all the magnetics feedbacks except BR_0.

Set up OH1 for -10kA to +10kA swing. back to zero at .5sec
Copy trace to OH2U (really the average)
Extend P gain on OH1 and "OH2U"
Extend gain on BR_0. Which controls the difference.

Looks good. OH2's are well balanced, and the voltages seem to be tracking the demand.

May 9 1997 02:28:10:680PM970509021Steve WolfeShot 21- TF + OH1 + OH2's + EF4

Minor tweak to EF4 waveform.
Reload RCUR waveform in wire 1, but zero gain

Joe may have gotten the ratiomatic connected again. No he didn't.

Supplies all look ok.
