| Physics operator summary for run 990810: MP 214 -- RF conditioning SL: Dr. Wukitch, I presume? PO: R. Granetz The goal for today: Continue ICRF development. Summary: The run was initially delayed, and then finally cancelled, in favor of giving the RF engineers more time in the power room to get the power feedback board operational. Scorecard: 0 plasmas 0 fizzles 0 duds (0 due to lack of one or more power supplies) 2 tests 0 aborted ---------- 2 total ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Engineering Setup for Tuesday, 990810: Run will begin at 09:00. Setup power supplies from shot 990806009 (1 MA, 5.4 T, flattop to 1.4 s) Two hours of ECDC in D2 prior to run. Gas setup - fill B-top with 6 psi of D2 Hybrid enabled fill B-side lower with 1 psi of Ar Hybrid enabled fill B-side upper with 6 psi of H2 Hybrid DISABLED fill C-side with 30 psi of D2 Hybrid enabled leave J-bottom as is Hybrid DISABLED The following gate valves should be enabled, assuming no vacuum problems: ECE, VUV A standard Tuesday morning OH test will be done for shot 1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run Plan for 990810: MP 214 -- RF conditioning Physics operator: R. Granetz Start by loading 990806009, a 1 MA, 5.4 T discharge. RF may require frequent access to the power room to debug the new power feedback control circuit(s). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: There were two hours of ECDC in D2 prior to this run. Hybrid coldstart done; initially there was an error message about an undefined logical name. Executing a $CCL remcam got rid of this error message on a second invokation. Load 990806009 (1 MA, 5.4 T, long flattop, nl_04=1.0e20 m-2). Shot 01 -- Test. This was a no-power shot cycle to check the camac and the PLC's after yesterday's computer/network problems. All OK. The start of the run will be delayed until noontime in order to allow the RF engineers more time in the power room. Shot 02 -- Test. This was another no-power shot cycle to re-check the camac and the PLC's after the UPS failure that just occurred. ------------------- Just before noontime, it was decided to cancel the run, in favor of giving the RF engineers more time in the power room to get the feedback board up and running. |
