Physop Summary for 991018 TF Magnet Tests and MP214 --- RF Conditioning PO: Irby EO: Silva, Dekow, Cochran SL: Wukitch Summary ------- Several data system cycles were run during cooldown today (001-008). Scanner data from these cycles indicated much lower resistances on the TF magnet joints. The beginning of the run was dedicated to testing the TF magnet. After a standard OH test (009), we took a shot at 50 kA (010) with a 3 second flattop, and two shots at 150 kA with about 0.6 second flattops (011 and 012). TF resistances were down nearly a factor of two since the last run period. The variation in resistance was only 0.3 to 0.4 uOhm over the 16 joints we are monitoring. Shot 13 was run without power supplies to make sure a data system problem during INIT did not do in the shot. Plasmas were obtained on all remaining shots. All transmitters except #2 ran today into plasma. Up to 1.8 MW out of #1 was obtained, up to 0.7 MW was delivered out of #3 and #4. The #2 transmitter was not available because one of the fault indicators was not working. Score ----- 19 data cycles 8 cooldown scanner tests 4 tests (1 OH, 3 TF) 1 data system failure 6 plasmas 0 fizzles or duds 0 disruptions
