Setup power supplies from shot 99111005. This shot was a 5.2 T, 800 kA
discharge, with a 1.5 s flattop. We will continue with 50 kA backporch on TF pulse.

Two hours of ECDC in D2 at 2.e-4 Torr before the run (should be stopped by 08:00).

Gas setup - fill B-top with 6 psi of D2 Hybrid enabled
fill B-side lower with 1 psi of Ar Hybrid DISABLED
fill B-side upper with 10 psi of H2 Hybrid DISABLED
fill C-side with 30 psi of D2 Hybrid enabled

Summary
*******

We were successful in performing density, gap, and vertical position
scans. With respect to gap and vertical position, any other
combination other than the one we have been running appeared to have
less impurities. At high densities, J3 would not run. It appeared to
arc consistently and fail after 9 retries. The antenna was more
consistent at low density in terms of coupling power. We had a bad
event with FMIT#3 on 021. We should do some dummy load testing next
week to verify operation. Signing off.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The last three or so shots of the day, beginning at around
16:15, will be run with the TF cooling tuned off, to prepare for the
possibility that we will want to remove the cylinder before the next
campaign. These shots will be run with the fizzle detector to the TF disabled,
and will continue until the upper arms reach a maximum temperature of
-50C. Irby and/or Gwinn will oversee this magnet warm-up procedure.

Results:
--------

The machine ran well, and most of the investigations were accomplished.
We added a step 2b, to determine the effect of raising and lowering ZCUR
on the RF performance. The phase comparison was not attempted. Total power was
raised to 4MW for a brief period on shot 20, before it disrupted. Up to 3.5 MW
was sustained on shot 19, but the Mo radiation was very high, and heating was
poor.

On shot 21, FMIT#3 had a crowbar during the pulse, and the anode current trace
appeared to go very negative. Wukitch decided not to risk additional operation
with J-port. The last two shots were run with D-port alone. Shot 23 had 1.5MW
from D-port, and got a good looking H-mode, but only reached ~80kJ.

The TCI laser became unreliable, so we switched over to NL_ZMETER control for
shots 10-12, and 14-23. This worked reasonably well, although there was some
thrashing in determining the correct setpoint. For shot 11 and thereafter, the
gain was raised from 5 to 9.

Irby decided not to go through the magnet warm-up procedure, so we will have
to use inductive heating with the EF4's if we need to pull the cylinder.
