Instructions for remote participation in the 2005 C-Mod Ideas Forum

December 2-6, 2004

 

 

Two-way Video conferencing
  1. Available on systems using the h.323 protocol and registered with ESnet
  2. If you have such a system but it is not registered please contact Martin Greenwald at g@psfc.mit.edu as soon as possible
  3. The meeting dialing number will be 0011349882663
  4. If you can, please connect 5-10 minutes before the beginning of a session so we check out the audio and video.


Streaming Video and Audio

To follow along with the meeting, video and audio will be streamed over the web. Note that there is a 5-10 second delay imposed to handle local buffering.
  1. Browse to  http://198.128.3.172
  2. You will get a username/password dialogue
  3. User Name = guest
  4. Password = ESnet (case sensitive)
  5. On the new page Click on PUBLICALLY ACCESSIBLE CONFERENCES
  6. Click on WATCH across from the meeting number; which will be 2663
  7. On the new page Choose Quicktime or Real (Quicktime seems to work a bit better, of course you will need to have at least one of the free packages installed on your computer.)
  8. Click on START STREAMING
  9. (Note: Internet Explorer users will have to dial back the Internet Security Zone setting to Medium and the privacy setting to Medium High.)


Presenting by telephone
  1. To present by telephone - we will call you just before your talk
  2. Please send the number you will be at via email to g@psfc.mit.edu by 5 PM EST Today (Dec. 1)
  3. Be at that number at least 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time slot (And check the latest version of the agenda on Wednesday evening.)
  4. We will call you just before your talk
  5. The chair will flip through your vugraphs


Vugraphs will be shared in real time via meeting place.
To access this service:
  1. Browse to http://198.128.3.166/
  2. Click on ATTEND MEETING
  3. Enter your name
  4. Meeting ID is 2468
  5. Click on FIND MEETING
  6. Click on 2468
  7. Click on ATTEND MEETING
