We ended up with 11 dedicated run days of highly-ranked runs, which somewhat exceeds the suggested allotment of 7 run days for the MHD topical area. All authors with proposals that are ranked High (H) should write up a formal miniproposal (MP) for consideration by the C-Mod Experimental Program Committee (EPC): Wolfe: LHCD effect on tearing mode stability Snipes: NTM Stability at Low Collisionality Snipes: Measurement of LHCD Effects on q(r) Through Stable and Unstable Alfvin Eigenmodes in the Current Flattop Snipes: Measurement of LHCD Effects on q(r) Through Stable and Unstable Alfvin Eigenmodes in the Current Rise Porkolab: Evolution of AT target plasmas and Alfven cascades during the current ramp and beyond with LHCD q-profile control Edlund: Studies of Alfvin eigenmode excitation during the sawtooth cycle in low density plasmas Sears: Damping rate of Toroidal Alfvin Eigenmodes at the threshold of stability in the presence of ICRF heated fast ions Granetz: Real-time detection and gas jet mitigation of locked mode disruptions Granetz: Determine minimum amount of gas required with Ar/He mixed gas jet disruption mitigation Whyte: Disruption mitigation & opacity studies using D2 massive gas injection Hender: Joint experiments with JET on non-resonant n=2 magnetic braking Note that some of the MHD submissions have been combined. Authors of these proposals should confer and write up a joint MP: Whyte/Wesley Snipes/Porkolab Snipes/Wolfe In addition, some of the MHD proposals have been recommended for other topical areas. Please consult the 'comments' column in the attached html file for detailed information. In a few cases, proposals that were categorized as "piggyback" will also require a written miniproposal. Contact me if you have a question about that. The next C-Mod EPC meeting is scheduled for Fri 19 Jan, but I don't think that we will be entertaining new MPs yet at that meeting. MP's should be submitted in PDF format (Word and TeX templates available from http://www.psfc.mit.edu/cmod/operations/) to Corrinne Fogg (fogg@psfc.mit.edu) RS
