Title submission instructions

In order to get placed on the Forum agenda, please email presentation titles to the organizers by the end of the business day on Wednesday, December 6, 2006. Where possible, please indicate which task force area from this list best corresponds to the proposal.

Presentation submission

All presentations should be submitted electronically by noon on Tuesday, December 12, 2006. (Earlier is better.) All presentations should consist of a five-minute talk supported by no more than three slides. Presentations should summarize the basic idea of each proposed experiment, as well as motivation, goals, and general plan of execution.

Allowable forms for the presentation file are PDF, MSWord and PowerPoint. All documents should be named as follows: Ideas07_your-last-name_first-two-words-in-ideas-title.ext

Sample names:

·         Ideas07_coppi_high-beta.ppt

·         Ideas07_murakami_lh-scaling.pdf

Individuals may present as many ideas as they wish.  Each presentation should be self-contained and limited to five minutes. Brief, constructive, group discussion will follow each presentation.  Discussions will focus on clarification rather than detailed critiques.

Submission of electronic slides for Local Presenters:

Copy the appropriately-named file to the Ideas2007 folder within the Presentations folder on the computer Video4.psfc.mit.edu.

In MS Windows the address is \\Video4\Presentations\Ideas2007

Mac users can use smb://video4.psfc.mit.edu/presentations/Ideas2007

On the C-Mod Linux cluster, this folder is mounted as /usr/local/cmod/presentations/Ideas2007

Submission of electronic slides for Remote Presenters:

Individuals with C-Mod Linux accounts can transfer their files to /usr/local/cmod/presentations/Ideas2007

If you cannot access the above presentations folder, please e-mail your files to ideasforum@psfc.mit.edu. You should receive an e-mail confirming the reception of the file. If your files are too large to e-mail practically, let us know so that an alternate file transfer can be arranged. Presentation files must be received at MIT by December 12!
