Topics for discussion at the workshop

Many potential topics exist which could be discussed within the context of physics determining pedestal structure. A partial list is below:

1. Models for ELM instability/triggering

2. Role of transport mechanisms in pedestal structure

3. Continuous edge relaxation mechanisms in ELM-free regimes

4. Mechanisms limiting inward pedestal expansion

5. Role of fueling on pedestal formation

6. Rotation and/or rotation shear

Ongoing research at both C-Mod and NSTX is already working toward addressing a number of pedestal themes. Examples are found in these documents: (C-Mod, NSTX)

We wish also to build on the progress made at the DIII-D Pedestal Transport Workshop held in February. Those interested may wish to review the agenda of that meeting and the closing summaries from J. Callen and R. Groebner.
