TRANSP 2277

Power Spectrum

Comments:
This run is an H-mode barrier case with a width of 5 cm at r/a=0.5. 2262 looked promising, except for the small problem of the failure of the equilibrium solver. The LH current looked good and there was a lot of bootstrap. The solver failed because the plasma became too overdriven, creating a too much negative OH current on axis. This run has the LH power reduced to 2 MW to try and reduce the problem. The lower LH power indeed helps, but there is still too much LH current. To reduce the current either the density may be increased or the LH power lowered still further. The average bootstrap fraction is 0.30 and peaked at 35%. For more information about the run see the input namelist.
