Plan your visit

Plasma physics and fusion science are for everyone, and we’ll show you why when you join us for a tour or at our Open House.

Tours

Interested in visiting the PSFC? We offer monthly tours for those interested in learning about our cutting-edge research in plasma physics and fusion energy.

Tours take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 2:30-3:30 PM, with a maximum capacity of 40 visitors per tour day. Advance registration is required, and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your spot, please fill out our registration form.

During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to explore our facilities, hear from researchers and graduate students, and gain insights into the future of fusion energy. Tours typically last about an hour and include a history of the PSFC, overview of our experiments, including our work with research partner Commonwealth Fusion Systems on the SPARC fusion device, and at least one plasma demo.

Special Tour Requests

If you believe your group has a compelling reason to request a tour outside of our regularly scheduled monthly tours, you may submit a request by clicking the button below. Please note that we are only able to accommodate a limited number of exceptions, and approval is reserved for groups with a clear and significant connection to our mission and educational efforts.

Bi-annual PSFC Open House

We host bi-annual open houses in Spring and Fall so that individuals and smaller family groups can visit and learn more about the exciting science happening at the PSFC. Advance registration is required, and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Our next open house will be in April, and registration information will be available here closer to the event.
